Washington’s business as usual must be stopped.  Overspending, wasteful and abusive actions by a few in power, and partisan positioning have become the norm.  Senator Sessions believes that there should be a focus on Good Governance, which includes restraining runaway spending, combating fraud and abuse, a renewed emphasis on serving the national good, and fighting corruption in the system.

During his time in the Senate, the Senator has earned a reputation as a protector of taxpayers’ money.  As a member of the Budget Committee, he has consistently opposed wasteful government spending and advocated a smaller, more accountable government.

As a former federal prosecutor, Senator Sessions has made a career out of putting criminals behind bars and protecting the trust of the American people.  He supported recent ethics reform legislation, particularly greater transparency for the earmarking process.  He also sponsored and passed legislation to prosecute waste and abuse of federal relief funds issued in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Senator Sessions takes the responsibilities of his office seriously.  He believes that Congress should support good governance issues that make Washington more accountable to the people.
