EADS will likely keep the contract to build tankers for the Air Force in Mobile, U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions told the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce at its Eggs & Issues breakfast Wednesday.
Sessions called the process that led to EADS winning the bid the most fair and open contract process in Air Force history.
In fact, he said Congress mandated many of the provisions in the contract that led to EADS winning the bid.
That, he said, makes it unlikely Congress will reverse its decision and award the contract to Boeing, despite that company's protest.
