Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., awarded a grant for almost $125,000 on Wednesday to representatives from the Kilby Laboratory School and the
University of North Alabama.
"Education is critical to the future, and we need to do a better job of enhancing the magic moment, that moment when the learning process takes places," Sessions said to a group of teachers, parents and Kilby students at the presentation.
Mary Maschal, Kilby director, said the grant will fund a model center for teacher training at the school where Kilby teachers will be on the front lines of educating others about the best way to integrate different methods into their existing curriculums.
