Tuesday, Senator Jeff Sessions toured the Farley Nuclear Power Plant to see firsthand the harm that could come by limiting the water supply.

The senator wanted a better understanding of water issues the plant faced before traveling to Washington to meet with national officials.

According to Southern Company representatives, if the Corp of Engineers reduces the flow of the river it might force the shutdown of Plant Farley.

“It would be unthinkable, unthinkable to me that we would create a compact or any kind of agreement that would permanently substantially decrease the flow of this entire river system into Alabama," said Senator Sessions.

The governors of Alabama, Georgia and Florida will meet in Washington along with other officials to find a feasible agreement.
